North Point ESC Celebrates Opening Day with Theme: "New Year, New Opportunities"
On Friday, August 15, 2025, North Point Educational Service Center officially kicked off the 2025-26 school year with an inspiring Opening Day celebration. The event, held with the theme “New Year, New Opportunities,” brought together more than 430 employees to launch a fresh chapter of service, learning, and collaboration.
Superintendent Andrea Smith welcomed staff with words of encouragement and gratitude for their continued dedication to students, families, and districts. This year’s theme reflects the agency’s ongoing mission of “Championing Education” while embracing the possibilities that come with a new beginning.
A highlight of the day was a powerful keynote address from Mrs. Lavonna Roth, nationally recognized educator, author, and creator of Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.®. Her presentation, “Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.,” challenged staff to bring out the best in themselves and others by focusing on self-worth, strengths, and creating environments where everyone can thrive.
The atmosphere was filled with energy and excitement as colleagues reconnected, welcomed new team members, and looked ahead to the year’s opportunities. With a renewed sense of purpose and commitment, North Point ESC employees are ready to continue supporting districts and students with excellence.
As the largest Opening Day gathering in North Point ESC history, the event set the tone for a year focused on growth, collaboration, and innovation. We are excited for all that lies ahead in 2025-26 and confident that this will be a year of meaningful impact.
