Huron Joins Leaders in Firelands Challenge
Edison Extends Lead in First Place...
Sandusky, Ohio. November 2, 2018 – Huron High School used the highest score in the second round of Firelands Challenge matches to move into a tie for fourth-place in the standings. The Huron team answered both toss-up questions and capitalized on 11 bonus points to win its match with Danbury and Western Reserve.
Despite losing its match to Norwalk by one point, Edison extended its lead in the standings with its cumulative score. Edison missed its team choice question and Norwalk picked it up on a bonus try to edge out the current champions in their match at Clyde.
The competition has been close through the early rounds of the competition. Round II saw five teams post scores in the fifties. Monroeville and Willard have moved up in the standings. Two teams are now tied for fourth place – Huron and Margaretta. Two teams are now tied for fifth place – Norwalk and Perkins.

Two civic organizations that help sponsor the Firelands Challenge program were recognized at the matches. The Milan and Norwalk Rotary Clubs have been long-time supporters of the competition.
Round III of Firelands Challenge will begin with a match at Edison High School on Monday, November 12, 2018. Edison will host teams from Port Clinton and Willard.
