Lynnie Schober - St. Boniface Catholic School

The 28th Annual Ottawa County Spelling Bee was held on February 23 – 26, 2021, virtually through an on-line spelling test through Scripps National Spelling Bee.  Twelve (12) students from grades 5-8 represented four school buildings, two school districts, and 1 parochial school in Ottawa County.  The five finalists are eligible to participate in the Regional Northwest Ohio Blade Championship Bee in March which will be held virtually.  The winner of The Blade Bee wins a spot for the preliminary round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee which will be held virtually.  The final round will be held in Orlando, Florida on July 8th.

North Point ESC employees (Andrea Smith, Linda Stauffer, and Debbie Graber) coordinated the Annual Ottawa County Spelling Bee.

These five finalists are eligible to participate in the Northwest Ohio Blade Championship Bee:   

1st Place –  Lynnie Schober – Grade 8 – St. Boniface Catholic School

2nd Place –  Lilah Schober – Grade 8 – St. Boniface Catholic School

3rd Place –  Lily Trevino – Grade 8 -- Woodmore Middle School

Tied for 4th Place –  Satori Alter – Grade 7 – Woodmore Middle School

                                Abbey Tucker – Grade 5 – Woodmore Elementary School
