Edison Widens Lead in Firelands Challenge
Shake-up in Top Five Teams
Edison High School’s team widened its lead the Firelands Challenge standings after the third round of the competition. It led Monroeville by 12 points after Round II and now leads Monroeville by 24 points.
While Edison and Monroeville held onto their one-two spots in the standings, the rest of the top five jostled for position in the latest matches. Willard, which had held the third spot, dropped out of the top five teams.
Huron, which won a Round II appeal to secure the fourth spot, moved from fourth to third after the latest round. Margaretta held onto fifth and Norwalk moved into the top five finishing in fourth. Only 12 points separate the teams in second through fifth positions.
