Ottawa County Honors Top Seniors

Three hundred and fifty students, parents, teachers, administrators and guests attended the Twentieth Annual Ottawa County Top Ten Banquet on April 21, 2010. The event, which was sponsored by the Ottawa County Superintendents, North Point Educational Service Center and area businesses and agencies, was held at the Camp Perry Clubhouse in Port Clinton.

The program is unique in that it honors the top ten graduating seniors from each high school in the county and educators who helped those students excel in the classroom and/or made a positive impact in their lives.

The following seniors were recognized and received a medallion and certificate of achievement at the ceremony:

Benton-Carroll-Salem: Kristina Ann Blatt, BrookeAnne Grace Blay, Olivia Alise Cole, Amber Elaine Frisch, Andrew Thomas Garner, Nicholas Anthony Johnson, Michael Andrew Mallernee, Erica Kathleen Mauder, Jenna Lynn Phillips, and Hannah Elaine Sigurdson.

Danbury Local: Heather Renee Bahsen, Caitlynn Elizabeth Biro, Lisha Ann Brooks, Cortney Jo Cook, Nathanial Adam Hartman, Kaitlin Dawn Hemmer, Michael Paul Hirsch, Brittany Sue Isom, Samantha Aileen Jean Molnar, and Marisa Marie Moody.

Genoa Area Local: Amanda Leigh Curry, Staci Marie Herman, Jessica Lee Jensen, Allison Nicole Johnson. Stephanie Hope Neuman, Jacob Anton Schreuder, Jennifer Leigh Simko, Scott Roger Traver, Corbin Michael Worley, and Travis Frederick Zunk.

Port Clinton City: Andre Jules Boissoneault, Leigh Anna Folger, Michelle Catherine Hablitzel, Ross Allen Hazzard, Kelsey Paige Lindsley, Anthony Michael Monaco, Jason Leonard Que, Emily Elizabeth Roder, Lana Taylor Sneath, and Blake Alexander Troller.

Put-in-Bay Local Schools: Caitlin Meredith Market and Miranda Rey Riddle.

Woodmore: Katherine Elizabeth Anderson, Lauren Elaine Avers, Joseph Anthony Braun, Melissa Noelle Busdecker, William Ryan Kuhlman, Lynne Corinne Schroeder, Elishia Kay Stone, Rachel Lauren Utendorf, Katherine Grace Wegert, and Amanda Katherine Willhardt.

In addition to the recognition program, Earl Johnson, former Ottawa County Superintendent of Schools, presented six seniors a $750 Earl J. Johnson Scholarship. The recipients included: Samantha Molnar (Danbury), Jacob Schreuder (Genoa), Michelle Hablitzel (Port Clinton), Caitlin Market (Put-in-Bay), Michael Mallernee (Oak Harbor) and Rachel Utendorf (Woodmore).

Nathanial Hartman (Danbury) and Katherine Anderson (Woodmore) were also recognized as being the recipients of the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award. The award, named for State Superintendent, Franklin B. Walter, recognizes the top senior scholar in each of Ohio’s eighty-eight counties. Both students received a Book Scholarship from the Ottawa County Cabinet of Superintendents and North Point Educational Service Center.

The Center extends best wishes to all members of the Class of 2010.
