ESCs Partner for Training Program
North Point Educational Service Center is working with Lucas County Educational Service Center, Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center and Wood County Educational Service Center on a special initiative focused toward resident educator and mentor teacher training. The funds for the project were secured from the Ohio Department of Education by Lucas County ESC.
Bill Lally (Superintendent/North Point ESC) noted, “We are glad to work with Lucas County on this initiative. They do some great things in the Toledo area and we have worked together on some other projects.” The program provides participants training in how to apply the state strategies for assisting new teachers, methods to enhance mentor-teacher relationships, and opportunities to offer feedback to the Ohio Department of Education as they finalize the model for statewide distribution.
The initiatives training sessions will occur throughout the spring of 2010. The Center has asked Marie Strayer to serve as the Project Coordinator. ESC staff involved in the Resident Educator/Mentor grant are: Sarah Short, Stacey Brough, Shanna Mockbee, Jacquie Bundschuh, Heather Ritchey, Cathy Celek, Bethany Binette, Marsha Kowalski, Jamie Rollin, Zachery Moots, Scott Prunty, Julie Kijowski, Sandy Swick, Kelli Hall and Lisa Wahl.
